Couture
Where craftsmanship accelerates
Where craftsmanship accelerates
Over the past four decades, Christian Lagerwaard has cultivated a distinct couture signature — a language of form, movement, and emotion.
From sculptural silhouettes and architectural lines to floral motifs and spine-like constructions, each design speaks with quiet confidence. These elements reappear not by repetition, but through evolution — refined across time, reimagined for the present, and always rooted in craftsmanship.
Couture embodies the heart of our house — an ever-evolving dialogue between vision and wearer. Through each creation, your story takes form. Let's shape a new story together.
Couture is not made to fit the moment — it's made to define it.
Every couture piece is the result of hours — often weeks — of meticulous work. From hand-finishing and intricate draping to the placement of every seam, nothing is left to chance.
Atelier-based and detail-driven, our process embraces both tradition and innovation. Fabrics are shaped, not forced. Techniques are chosen not for ease, but for expression. Each creation is made to move — with you, and through time.
This is not just about how it looks. It’s about how it’s made, and how it makes you feel.
Each couture creation begins with a vision — yours, ours, or somewhere in between. Fabric, form, and detail unfold through an intuitive dialogue, where instinct often leads before planning.
Rather than following fixed rules, the process adapts to the story we wish to tell. From the first sketch to the final stitch, every step is shaped by artistry, precision, and emotion.
Appointments are available in Paris, Maastricht, or a location of choice by request.
An in-depth meeting to discuss the client's vision, fabric choices, and custom details like embroidery or embellishments.
Based on the consultation, sketches are completed, and materials are selected.
A prototype of the garment is made in simple fabric to asses structure, silhouette, and initial fit. Adjustments to length, proportions, and key design elements are discussed.
During or right after the first fitting, embroidery samples are shown for client approval.
Tailors make corrections based on feedback from the first fitting, adjusting structure and key design elements.
The client tries on the garment in its intended fabric. Embroidery and embellishments begin to appear, and further refinements to fit and design are made.
Delivered as a personalised masterpiece, ready for its moment.
